This is my 2500th Review
Thanks to Dan of Slipthrough Movies for this recommendation.
Here are his thoughts on the film.
Number of Times Seen – 1 (11 Sep 2016)
Brief Synopsis – A woman travels around Scotland luring unsuspecting men into her van where she then gets them to enter a mysterious black void.
My Take on it – I knew that there was a reason that I have avoided this film for 3 years and it’s because I knew that it was not the kind of movie I would enjoy.
Boy was I right!!
The plot of the film is quite flimsy and there was no character development at all.
I was actually bored by the tediousness of it all because I was expecting something interesting to happen and it just wasn’t happening at all.
Yes, I’m willing to concede that the visuals here were nice, but I need more than visuals to enjoy a movie; I need an engaging story and this film just doesn’t deliver.
This film lacked an anchor for the story to flow and I was so tempted to turn it off so many times because I was bored.
I’m aware of the fact that this film was on a lot of people’s top ten lists for 2013 and in many instances even #1, but to me this was a complete waste of time. (sorry Dan, at least I’m now glad that I can say Ive seen it and that it’s now all behind me) 🙂
At least I can now say that I ended this series with a BANG!!
Bottom Line – Definitely not the kind of movie I generally enjoy. The plot seems non existent and there is no character development at all. The visuals may be nice to look at, but without a cohesive story as an anchor, this film totally bored me. I know that many people loved this film and it topped many lists as the best film of the year, but to me it was completely incomprehensible.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The first proper line of dialogue happens 13 minutes into the film. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy
