Fire in the Sky (1993)

fire“[about Travis] I searched the woods, but he was… There was nothing. They took him. ” – Mike

Number of Times Seen – 1 (18 Sep 2016)

Brief Synopsis – Based on the true story of one of the most controversial cases of a supposed alien abduction.

My Take on it – This is a film that I had heard about and never got around to seeing til now.

The cast is great and is led by Robert Patrick and James Garner who both do a really good job here with their characters who must face off against one another numerous times.

The rest of the cast is also pretty good despite mostly having minor parts here.

The first half is really good, but the problems begin around the midway point where things get a bit crazy and it actually ruins the whole story because it doesn’t manage to find a way to recover.

I liked the way they handled the mystery aspects of the story but once they got into the supernatural aspects, it turned into a complete mess.

Bottom Line – Not as good as I had hoped starts off really well and then spirals downward about halfway thru and doesn’t manage to recover. Great cast helps this along but even they cant stop the poor second half.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – D.B. Sweeney, Craig Sheffer, Peter Berg and Henry Thomas were all older than the ages of their characters. (From IMDB)

Rating – BAFTA Worthy
