“It’s true what they say: sometimes ignorance, just being stupid, it’s the fastest shortcut to happiness, to just feel good. You know… like those cartoons that keep running on open air until they realize there’s nothing underneath their feet. As long as they are not aware of it, they never fall.” – Harry
Number of Times Seen – 1 (19 Sep 2016)
Brief Synopsis – At a dinner party, 5 very different people share so much about their lives.
My Take on it – This short film was a really pleasant surprise because I had no idea what to expect when I sat down to watch it.
The characters seem very realistic by the way they acted, interacted and spoke with each other and ultimately because of their normal realistic problems.
We get a chance to be a fly on the wall for a short while and it’s fun.
The realism is so strong the whole way thru and the addition of the main character constantly breaking the fourth wall to clue us in to pertinent information is great.
I liked how thus film doesn’t seek answers or even ask us to be judgmental; all they want is for us to follow a few realistic characters for a short time without any further obligation
Bottom Line – Really liked the way the characters seemed so real with their problems and connections to one another. Short film that gives us a taste of being a fly on the wall for multiple conversations at a small dinner party. The realism shines thru and I like the utilization of the breaking of the fourth wall in order to give us an even deeper understanding. Really liked how there Is no need for closure by the end, just knowledge of the whole complex relationships involved here. Recommended!
