“I’m pretty sure my brother-in-law just joined ISIS and he’s a Jew.” – Gwen
Number of Times Seen – 1 (30 Oct 2016)
Brief Synopsis – Three overworked mothers decide to change the way they live their lives so that they can enjoy everything more freely instead of feeling like slaves to their families.
My Take on it – This is the kind of film that I would probably expect to have been made by someone like Judd Apatow (see trivia below), but regardless, it actually works despite seeming to be totally off base.
The reason I believe it works so well is because of the chemistry between the main 6 characters and the way they play off one another the whole way thru.
Most of them are not normally known as comedic actresses, but they are able to pull it off quite successfully.
There are scenes where the dialogue gets a bit too raunchy, but once again, somehow it just continued to still work despite that.
I think that the fact that we don’t expect behavior and language from these kind of characters and actresses is what makes it so much fun to watch.
They are also able to bring up some real issues of parenthood and find a fun solution to fixing those problems (not that most of us would opt for them tho) 🙂
Bottom Line – Very fun comedy that I didn’t expect to enjoy. The main cast is superb and each bring their own amount of fun and humor to these roles. Gets a bit too raunchy every so often, but somehow it still works. These aren’t the kind of characters that one would expect and that’s what makes this such a fun film to watch. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The project was originally setup at Paramount Pictures with Leslie Mann set to star and Judd Apatow attached to produce. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy

Bad Moms sounds exactly as fine, funny, and formulaic as I would have expected!
