“There’s no way you’re gonna pull this off without my help.” – Robin
Number of Times Seen – 1 (7 Nov 2016)
Brief Synopsis – When Batman goes missing, his Gotham family takes over fighting crime while also trying to figure out where he went.
My Take on it – I only started watching the DC/WB superhero movies less than six months ago, but I’m really loving the way they are all done.
It’s great how the keep thing dark and realistic and even add adult themes here and there to help accent the fact that these are not necessarily cartoons for kids.
Really enjoyed the way that this story plays out because it shows how all of Batman’s protégés can learn to work together when they need to fill in for their mentor.
The fact that despite seemingly being very independent, each of them manages to still work together as a team when needed in order to fill the big shoes of The Caped Crusader.
It was great seeing Batwing appear for the first time too.
As with all of the movies in this series, they once again do an amazing job with the voice cast.
I love how each of these stories is pretty much self contained because it allows the writers to make bold decisions without it affecting any particular timeline or canon.
Bottom Line – Great storyline because it shows how much support Batman can get from his protégés. Loved the teamwork between all of the superheroes as they tried to step into those enormous superhero shoes. Excellent voice cast as always. Love how DC/WB keeps making superb stand alone superhero movies. Highly recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This is the first appearance of Batwing (Luke Fox) in media outside of the comic book medium. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy
