“There is no redemption for me. ” – Wonder Woman
Number of Times Seen – 1 (13 Nov 2016)
Brief Synopsis – In an alternate universe where the incarnations of the three main members of the Justice League are quite different from what we know, an unknown sinister being tries to frame the heroes so that he will be able to take over the world
My Take on it – When I started to watch this film, I had no idea that this story takes place in a completely different parallel universe with completely different incarnations of the superheroes and characters that we know quite well.
The storyline and characters are interesting despite the fact that I still prefer the Justice League that we are already familiar with.
The focus here is on just three superheroes; Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, but their identities and methods of fighting justice are completely different than what we already know about their characters.
I really liked how many of he DC characters appear here in smaller roles (mostly as scientists) which shows that their characters have a predilection to science no matter what universe they are from.
AS always, the voice cast is great and we get Benjamin Bratt, Michael C. Hall, Paget Brewster, Tamara Taylor, C. Thomas Howell, Richard Chamberlain and Jason Isaacs doing some excellent work on this film.
This film was so popular that DC/WB even created a prequel TV series showing the events that led up to the current “crisis” depicted in this film.
AS I stated before, I prefer the “normal” Justice League, but they still do a nice job with this group of crime fighters.
Bottom Line – Interesting spin on the whole idea of the Justice League, but still not as interesting as the one we are already familiar with. Liked the use of many of the DC characters as supporting characters which shows that it doesn’t matter what universe they live in, they will still be drawn to the same kind of work with just a slightly different angle. Great voice cast as usual for the DC/WB. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Batman who “only kills criminals” is voiced by Michael C. Hall who portrayed Dexter Morgan a serial killer who only killed serial killers. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy
