“You don’t have to run anymore, Pete. You can stay with us.” – Grace
Number of Times Seen – 1 (23 Nov 2016)
Brief Synopsis – After a little boy is lost in the woods, he is befriended and raised by a friendly dragon.
My Take on it – I recall seeing the original film as a kid and hoped that they would find a great way to update it for modern audiences.
Unfortunately, the plot and story remain quite stale and aren’t as gripping and exciting as one would hope they could be.
The kids are obviously cute.
The adults are secondary to the story and most feel very one dimensional.
The one really good thing here are the special effects which are nice to watch.
Unfortunsttly that isnt enough to nake yhhs ferl vetter ygan average.
Bottom Line – Not as good as the original. The story and plot isn’t as emotionally gripping as one would expect. The kids are cute, the adults are secondary to it all and the special effects make things a bit more enjoyable but the film still doesnt manage to feel more than average.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Robert Redford rescued an abandoned horse on the second day of shooting. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy

We definitely disagree on this one. I think this improved upon the original in just about every way. I thought this had an emotional intensity that really moved me. The original is very silly and this I really thought was special
