Number of Times Seen – 1 (6 Mar 2017)
Brief Synopsis – When Batman finds out that he has fathered a son with Talia al Guhl, he takes it upon himself to teach his son how to be a good crime-fighter despite what the child learned during his years of training under the League of Assassins.
My Take on it – Having already seen a few of the DC/WB animated films that feature Damien Wayne, I was quite intrigued to watch this origin story of how he became Robin.
The do a very good job of creating an interesting and thrilling origin story because it gives us so much of what we always all hope for from a Batman film.
Unfortunately tho, the story feels a bit incomplete when looking at it on its own merits as opposed to being a part of a more global DC/WB storyline.
The voice acting is once again superb and I thing that DC/WB has been great in their voice casting choices over the years.
This film superbly gives us so much valuable information about the characters that most people wouldn’t expect to learn about them, flaws and all.
Not sure I’m s happy that Deathstroke was used as a villain…..
If one looks at the overall story arc in the DC/WB world, this film it a great piece of the puzzle, yet doesn’t seem to work so well on it’s own.
Bottom Line – The story is done well and gives us a nice introduction to Damien, but it lacks a feeling of completeness storywise. Great voice actors help this one a bit, but not enough. Really enjoyed the way we learn so much more about the characters than we thought was possible to know about them. Good beginning to a new story arc, but is only great when looking at it as a piece of a grander puzzle. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This movie is a follow up not sequel for Justice League: War and is also based on New 52 continuity. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy
