This is my 2969th Review
Thanks to Dell of Dell on Movies for this recommendation.
Here are his thoughts on the film.
“Soon the world is only going to buy and sell products using bitcoins.” – Malcolm
Number of Times Seen – 1 (21 Mar 2017)
Brief Synopsis – After three geeks go to a party, they accidentally acquire a knapsack filled with drugs and must decide what to do with them.
My Take on it – This is a film that I had never heard of before and was a bit confused as to what to expect.
As things start to move, it’s easy to see that they are able to take a premise that is widely used and put a modern spin on it that keeps it fun and interesting.
They get the balance between comedy and drama quite well here and they know when to use each of them to the film’s advantage.
This movie is filled with lots of surprises along the way that seriously come out of nowhere yet still make perfect sense within the scope of the story.
The characters are fun to watch and since they don’t use normal stereotypes for the parts here, things move along at a great pace while all the time, we really don’t know what to expect will happen next.
Cleverly done!
Bottom Line – Great premise that is able to put a nice and modern spin to an often used idea. Lots of fun scenes filled with many surprises that you never expect. They get the balance between drama and comedy perfect here which helps keep things so interesting along the way. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The first movie to accept bitcoins for ticket purchases at over 900 theaters in the USA via MovieTickets.com, a nod to the film’s own plot. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy

Surprised you hadn’t at least heard of this before since it turned up on lots of Top 10 lists in 2015. At least you’ve seen it, now. I totally agree about the balance of comedy and drama, here. Thanks for the trivia on it accepting bitcoin. That makes me appreciate that quote you used even more. Really glad you enjoyed this.

I really loved Dope. It had John Hughes vibes. If you’re a 90s nerd check this out NOW!! A really funny character piece with some surprisingly strong emotion.
If you like this check out The Get Down on Netflix.
