Number of Times Seen – At least 5 times (Cable in the 80’s, 25 Aug 2007 and 19 Jul 2017)
Brief Synopsis – Right before his wedding, a single guy and his friends plan one of the most wild bachelor parties ever.
My Take on it – This is a film that I recall seeing numerous times on cable as a kid and always enjoying all of the antics and chaos of the characters.
The story itself is extremely juvenile yet still completely hilarious.
Tom Hanks is amazing here just like in just about everything else he does and who would have guessed that less than a decade later he’d have two Best Actor Oscar Awards on his shelf.
As I stated earlier, the story itself is pretty silly but they somehow were able to have all the correct pieces in place in order to make the formula work so well.
This film is actually extremely quotable and has so many memorable scenes that it’s no surprise that it is one of the best of its kind to pop up in the 80’s when these kind of sex comedies were quite prevalent.
Always loved Adrian Zmed in this film because it is so different from the kind of roles that he played on TV especially on the show TJ Hooker.
Most of the rest of the supporting cast aren’t too familiar, but Michael Dudikoff and Tawney Kitaen were able to have nice careers following this film.
Don’t expect anything intellectual here, but it’s stil so much fun to watch!
Bottom Line – Hilarious 80’s sex romp comedy. Hanks is perfect in the lead and has only gotten better with time. The story itself is quite silly but it has all of the right pieces in place to make the formula work. Has lots of quotable and memorable scenes that have helped it stay so iconic over the years despite it not being an intellectual film. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Kelly McGillis had originally secured the female lead, but was fired early in the shoot because she wasn’t considered to be pretty or sexy enough. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy
