In a Heartbeat (2017)

Number of Times Seen – 1 (7 Aug 2017)

Brief Synopsis – Short film about a boy who harbors a crush on another boy but doesn’t know how to properly express himself.

My Take on it – This is a short film that I heard about the other day and its premise alone made me want to seek it out.

The themes discussed here are really deep and they do a very effective job despite the fact that one would normally believe it to be carefree based on the fact that its animated.

The story itself is quite universal and it doesn’t really matter if they are talking about love between a straight or gay couple since the point is the very same; the heart wants what the heart wants and love is love.

The use of animation here works really well and is quite effective getting the overall point across.

Bottom Line – Great short film that has such deep themes despite its very carefree overall look. The story didn’t need to be about a gay relationship because the same could have worked for a straight couple, but that is part of the point since it doesn’t really matter since love is love and what the heart wants is what the heart wants.  As an animated film, it was extremely effective in giving over its point. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The movie met with massive success after it was released online. During five days since its official YouTube premiere it was watched 20 million times. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy
