“We’re takers, gents. That’s what we do for a living. We take.” – Gordon
Number of Times Seen – 1 (6 Sep 2017)
Brief Synopsis – Two cops track a band of high level band robbers as they try to commit one last heist before retiring in style.
My Take on it – This is a film that I never heard of beforehand and was literally taken by surprise by how much I enjoyed it.
Lots of movies about heists have been made over the years and this time they do a great job balancing the two sides of the law to a point where you aren’t really sure who you want to root for.
The characters aren’t developed enough as they could have been, but they do an adequate enough job with them to enjoy watching everything they do.
The premise itself is quite clever and that helps keep things interesting the entire time.
They portray the dynamics of both sides of the law really well which further clouds our judgement as to who we should root for.
The cast is great here with Paul Walker, Idris Elba and Matt Dillon all stand outs when they shine brighter than the rest.
Some of the actions scenes are so enjoyable to watch because they help make us feel as if we are right there with the characters as things happen.
This is an extremely fun action film that has both heart and even an interesting plot which helps keep us wanting more and more as it moves forward.
Bottom Line – Quite clever film that keeps things interesting the whole time. The characters are great to watch despite the fact that they aren’t nearly developed well enough. The dynamics between the two sides works really well and it’s not easy decided who you want to root for. The cast is great with Walker, Dillon and Elba shining through. Extremely fun action scenes also help keep this interesting the whole time. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The characters John Rahway played by Paul Walker, and the Attica brothers played by Chris Brown and Michael Ealy are all named after prisons. Attica is in Upstate New York. And Rahway Prison is in New Jersey. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy

I’m glad I’m not the only one who enjoyed this one. If I remember correctly, it didn’t get very well rated (not that I care about ratings). I bought the DVD purely because it looked interesting and was practically free.
