Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

“Uh, guys, they got a tank! ” – Tej

Number of Times Seen – 1 (8 Sep 2017)

Brief Synopsis – The team must join forces with the law in order to stop a mercenary who has one of the own – presumed dead as his second in command.

My Take on it – This is a great continuation to the previous installment of this franchise.

Once again, we get to see the way this team works together and with the added addition of The Rock to the team, it becomes even more forceful than ever,

The idea to have the bad guys utilize the same kind of crew is both humorous and inevitable because they are trying to establish what kind of specialists are needed to pull off jobs like they do.

The way that they once again get the team to work on the right side of the law works really well because it’s nice to see the team work within the confines of the law instead of against it.

The action scenes are once again taken up a notch and the way they present both the Tank and Plane chases work extremely well despite being completely absurd and impossible in real life yet still remain true within the confines of the reality of these films.

The choice of Luke Evans as the villain is a good one since his portrayal easily eclipses all of the previous villains in the franchise.

Bottom Line – Great action film that works really well within the scope of the world presented. Having the team together again to work against a similar team like their own is both humorous and inevitable.  Liked having The Rock become part of the team and have the team once again work within the law instead of against it. The tank chase and the the plane climax both work amazingly despite being a bit far fetched and contrived but remains true to the franchise. Evans is a pretty good villain and was able to eclipse any of the previous ones from beforehand. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The tank chase was originally planned to be created via CGI, but director Justin Lin insisted that it had to be done practically with some post-production enhancements.  (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy
