Number of Times Seen – 1 (11 Sep 2017)
Brief Synopsis – A young cancer survivor tells his tale while also trying to help others overcome the fear that the disease is always fatal.
My Take on it – This is quite an interesting documentary that does something that is somewhat unique when dealing with this deadly disease that has taken millions of people; it shows hope.
Most people suffering from cancer know that there isn’t much of a chance of surviving, but this documentary goes to teach everyone that it is possible to beat the disease and live a normal healthy life.
The fact that this film is nearly 30 years old is quite fascinating because one would think that in the decades since this came out that there have been so many advances in science and medicine that we would hear of more cases today of survival than back then.
The family that this film centers around seem like a normal working class family and it therefore comes across as being quite genuine in the way that we easily believe what they went through while hoping for a miracle.
This proves that there are times when certain people’s survival may truly feel as if it a miracle has happened and that it can happen to anyone.
Bottom Line – Very interesting documentary that gives hope to people who believe that there may not be any left. The fact that this film is nearly 30 years old is amazing because due to the many advances in science and medicine over the past three decades, we should be hearing many more stories like this. The family that this is all about seem like regular people which helps make us believe that miracles can happen to just about anyone. Recommended!
