  1. My first reaction when you said “Natalie Portman” was – you actually found 10 movies to make the list? Looking at yours – I’m still asking. Of your 10 – I don’t think I’ve even seen 4 or 5 of them because I heard they were bad. I walked out of the 1st THOR after about 15 minutes and haven’t gone back. Not a big Star Wars fan either. The fact that JACKIE is as low on your list as it is – and BLACK SWAN isn’t on it at all because you “Hated hated…” it makes the whole endeavor a bit suspect. I assume when you choose an actor to use to compile a list – you’re concentrating on the ACTOR’S role/performance and maybe not the overall film. There have been spectacular performances in bad movies. So did you hate Black Swan as a film AND Natalie’s performance in it? Or just the film so much that you were blinded to how good she was in it?

That being said…I thought about this – and can’t come up with a Top 10 – you’ll have to settle for a Top 5. That’s all I got. Don’t want to fill it out with some ringers or ne’er do wells…

1). JACKIE 2). BLACK SWAN 3). LEON (especially impressive because of her age when she made it) 4). CLOSER and 5). GARDEN STATE

  2. I’m sorry Rob, I think something’s wrong with my eyes. I could swear you have Revenge of the Sith and Attack of the Clones in the top two spots and all three Star Wars prequels on the list. Since I’m sure I’m mistaken, glad to see you have Leon: The Professional at number 1, so do I. Others I find missing:

    Heat (yes, she’s in it)
Black Swan (I know, you hate it)
    The Darjeeling Limited
