  1. Geez Rob- you ain’t makin’ it easy. This category – U should pardon the expression – is murderous. I cut a few which seemed more cop/caper/heist movies than gangster, Still hard. Under tight rules – NOT making the cut were The Killing, The Sting, The Usual Suspects, Out of the Past, In Bruges, Fargo, The French Connection, Touch of Evil and No Country For Old Men. That’s almost a Top 10 all by itself. My list: 1). The Godfather, Parts I & 2 2). Good Fellas 3). Bonnie & Clyde 4). On The Waterfront 5). The Untouchables 6). The Departed 7). Eastern Promises 8). Casino 9). Miller’s Crossing and 10). The Asphalt Jungle.

  2. I’m ecstatic to see Once Upon a Time in America in your top spot. I love that movie. Still, I’d have it #2 with The Godfather Part II at #1. Also pleased to see Miller’s Crossing make your list. So many other great gangster movies we can go a lot of ways with this one. Other great ones:

    The Public Enemy
    White Heat
    The Roaring Twenties
    Little Caesar
    Scarface (the original)
    American Gangster
    Road to Perdition
    A Bronx Tale

I could go on for quite a while, but I’ll stop there.

Let me Know what you think!!
