My good friend Abbi of Abbiosbiston.com posted the below list of questions on her site earlier today to help her readers get to know her better… and I decided to take up her challenge and answer them also for ya’ll to get to know me better too.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE?

 Cant believe I need to choose one… maybe Die Hard (1988) or Back to the Future (1985)

FAVOURITE MOVIE IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS?

Wow, another difficult one – I guess Inside Out (2015)

 Lifeboat (1944) without a question

 I’d love to reread The Stand by Stephen King when I get a chance

Between a 7 and an 8.  MY family is going thru some pretty tough personal stuff and that has brought me down from my usual 9.

 Besides me?? The LAMB of course

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD?

 Jelly Beans, especially Mike ‘N Ike (doesn’t say it needs to be a healthy choice)

LEAST FAVOURITE FOOD?

 Mushrooms (the vegetable)

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ON YOUR PIZZA?

 Ive been lactose intolerant for 2 decades, so I haven’t had pizza in years, but I use to love tuna, onions and corn as toppings

FAVOURITE DRINK?

 Ginger Ale or Seltzer (Soda Water)

FAVOURITE DESSERT?

 Vanilla Ice Cream on a sugar cone with colored sprinkles

DARK CHOCOLATE OR MILK CHOCOLATE?

 Not a fan of chocolate, but if I had to… Milk Chocolate

COFFEE OR TEA?

 Tea, but I usually dont drink hot drinks

WHAT’S THE HARDEST PART ABOUT BEING A MOM/DAD?

 Trying to decide where the fine line is between friend and disciplinarian

 piano/keyboard

 no desire to get a tattoo, so I never really thought about this

 Dogs, cats shed too much and I’m allergic

 Whale watching, even though I’d wanna do it from really far away

 Freedom to go see a double feature in the theater….. (my wife really knows what is important to me) 🙂

Gold earrings to my wife for her 40th Birthday

 Trivial Pursuit

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE COUNTRY TO VISIT?

The US, but I havent been there in almost 8 years

WHAT’S THE LAST COUNTRY YOU VISITED?

Germany, had a work conference 3 years ago.

WHAT COUNTRY DO YOU WISH TO VISIT?

 England, cause then maybe I could meet some of my many blogging friends who live there

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?

Green

LEAST FAVOURITE COLOUR?

Neon pink

DIAMONDS OR PEARLS?

 Pearls, they look more elegant

HEELS OR FLATS?

 Haven’t ever tried heels, so I’m gonna go with flats

PILATES OR YOGA?

 have never tried either, but I’d probably try Pilates first if I didn’t have a choice, yoga looks more painful

JOGGING OR SWIMMING?

 swimming, always enjoyed it more cause u sweat less 🙂

BEST WAY TO DE-STRESS?

 why of course, pop in a movie

IF YOU HAD ONE SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Time Travel… which would allow me to change the future, past and present

WHAT’S THE WEIRDEST WORD IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE?

 Tulips

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?

 A few weeks ago when discussing terrible news with a family member

DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?

 yes

DO YOU BAKE?

 yep. love to make fresh rolls which the kids devour on sight

WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?

That on many days I dont have as much patience with my kids as I would like to have .

WHAT IS YOUR MOST FAVOURITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?

My optimism that all in life will be fine…eventually

WHO DO YOU MISS MOST?

Robin Williams.  He was such a free spirited comedian that could make us laugh whenever he was given the opportunity to do so.

  1. Very interesting answers. I enjoyed reading this. We all miss Robin Williams. There was this light emanating from him and it is hard to forget.Back to the Future (1985) is a truly great movie indeed, and I agree with you on Inside Out (2015).
    I am wondering if I can pick up this challenge on my blog too? Of course, if I do so, I will tag you and your friend. I haven’t decided it yet, just asking if this is possible? Thanks.

  2. What’s your worst category on Trivial Pursuit? Please do come to England 🙂 It’s not the one I quoted on my blog (went for a sentimentl one) bt the line where the invivible friend knocks facts and opinions over and says he just puts them back in whatever as it doesn’t matter cracked me up big time.

  4. fascinating list of questions – and equally fascinating answers Rob. Not sure jelly beans qualify as a “food”. Wouldn’t want to have to subsist on them if they are. If the question was “favorite candy?” that might work. But not sure it fits into an actual food “group”

      • Although I’ve heard popcorn referred to as smart food – so you may be able to work that out. If not – steak is a solid choice. I might go with pasta. Linguini with a red sauce and clams or maybe mussels.

          • I usually have it on days when I’ve skipped lunch and I’m starving. But a good sirloin is tough to beat. BTW – I really like Kate Winslet – but couldn’t find enough movies of hers that I liked enough to make a Top 10 list. I would agree w/ 5 of the 10 on your list.

  5. This is a great Q & A, Rob! It gives us a nice peek into your tastes and preferences other than movies. I much prefer chocolate, but jelly beans are definitely a food so more power to you. And where the heck did you find that defenestrate word? It’s a good pick for the definition alone.
    Sorry to hear your family’s going through a rough patch. I’ll be keeping you in my prayers. Hold onto that optimism, and I hope you had a good Yom Kippur! 🙂
