This is my 3460th Review
Thanks to Rodney of Downthehall Podcast for this recommendation.
Here are his thoughts on the film.
“I’ve have exactly one life, and for reasons I myself don’t really understand, I now believe that life somehow will not be fulfilled unless I’m standing at the bottom of the worlds deepest pit with you two perverts! ” – Dot
Number of Times Seen – 1 (19 Oct 2017)
Brief Synopsis – After suffering a tragedy, a man decides to become a caregiver in order to turn around his perspective on life.
My Take on it – This is a film that was recommended to me a few months back, but for some reason that I can’t explain, I never got around to seeing it.
Boy, was that a HUGE mistake.
This was such an amazing film because it takes a theme that normally would seem as taboo and finds the proper balance between humor and drama to make it work so well.
I felt such a connection to the characters because of the way that they slowly tell us about their lives.
We actually get to learn about them as they learn about one another which gives the feeling that we are also rght there with them.
The cats is superb because they let us see them for what they are, warts and all.
Paul Ridd and Christopher Roberts have amazing chemistry together which helps make us care more about the characters and the story.
Lesser actors, might not have been able to do such a thing.
The fact that this film is based on truth helps make it even more impactful.
Bottom Line – Amazing film that is able to get the balance between drama and humor just right. The cast is superb because they allow us to see the characters completely for who they are despite their flaws. Rudd and Roberts have amazing chemistry that lets so much of the story work better than it could have with lesser actors. Loved the way that they only slowly reveal the histories of the characters so that we can get to know them as they each get to know each other better. The fact that this is based on truth also helps make it that much more impactful. Highly Recommended!
