Movies From the Hat VI #36 – Diego’s Pick – The Young Offenders (2016)

This is my 3473rd Review

Thanks to Diego of Lazy Sunday Movies for this recommendation.

“There are two things you need for an adventure, a treasure map and someone dumb enough to go with you.” – Conor

Number of Times Seen – 1 (26 Oct 2017)

Brief Synopsis – Two delinquents in a small Irish town stumble upon one of the biggest drug finds in history while being pursued by the local constable.

My Take on it – This is a film that sounded interesting but was actually extremely boring for me to watch.

The characters were all too quirky for me and I didn’t care at all what would happen to them.

The cat and mouse chase scenes really got to be excessive and I was hoping deep down so often tat they would get caught so that the story would finally end.

I really hope that this isn’t based on truth because if it really is, there are truly some really daft people in the world.

Bottom Line – Extremely silly and boring movie. I couldn’t connect with any of the characters and just wanted them to get caught during their cat and mouse chase.  Really hope that this isn’t truly based on real events because that would claim that these people really are extremely daft.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – In the scene where Jock is in the shop there is a poster for the show Winning streak. The poster has presenters Sinead Kennedy and Marty Whelan. Marty Whelan began presenting the show in 2009, two years after the film is set, while Sinead Kennedy began in 2013, a full 6 years after the film is set. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy
