Movies From the Hat VI #44 – Abbi’s Pick – S*x Drive (2008)

This is my 3481st Review

Thanks to  Abbi of AbbiOsbiton for this recommendation.

“I refuse to be embarrassed by a car that looks like a trapper keeper.” – Lance

Number of Times Seen – 1 (3 Nov 2017)

Brief Synopsis – A teenager takes a road trip with his two best friends in order to try and lose his virginity.

My Take on it – When Abbi suggested this film, I had high hopes that maybe there would be something different about this film despite the fact that the plot seemed to be similar to thousands of other teen sex comedies that have been made over the years.

Unfortunately, it’s the same as all the rest and they try their hardest to make this one as raunchy as possible yet in the end, that doesn’t help make this any better.

The characters are all typical teen movie stereotypes and all could be played by just about anyone.

The only reason to even think about checking this film out is the small role played by Seth Green as an Amish man who helps them out along the way.

Bottom Line – Typical raunchy teen film that just tries too hard to be as raunchy as possible eventhough the [plot is a complete rehash of thousands of other films.  None of the main characters stand out at all and could be replaced by just about anyone. Green is hilarious as an Amish guy who helps them along the way and is the sole reason to check this out.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The actual tree that Ian and Felicia throw their shoes up into is located outside Harvard, Illinois. Many shoes have been added to it since the movie. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy
