This is my 3489th Review
Thanks to Emma of EmmaKWall.com for this recommendation.
Here are her thoughts on the film.
“Just one of life’s little jokes, isn’t it?… It points out our mistakes too late for us to profit by them.” – Clive
Number of Times Seen – 1 (6 Nov 2017)
Brief Synopsis – In order to enact revenge on his wife, a man kidnaps her lover.
My Take on it – This was a shocking choice for me because I had never heard of this film, its director or even any of the actors.
Emma tho, has recommended some great films for me over our friendship and I trusted her judgement and was willing to give this one a try.
I knew nothing about the plot and went in completely blind.
The dialogue immediately drew me in and I was intrigued by the way things began to unfold.
The best part about this film is that it presents us with an extremely simple and normal plot, but the characters and dialogue make it more complex and thrilling to watch.
The dialogue helps give us such a broad view of the characters, their situations and their viewpoints on the things that are happening.
They do a great job letting the plot unfold while keeping us in the dark about some major points of the story just like most of the characters themselves.
The fact that I didn’t recognize any of the cast actually helped make the story seem even more genuine and realistic because I wasn’t watching celebrities perform.
This is definitely a film that I need to see again in order to try and take it all in.
Brilliantly done!
One of my favorites from this round of MFTH!
Tnx Ems!
Bottom Line – Such a clever and simple plot that works so well. The dialogue between the four main characters is amazingly scripted and they all interact so well. Loved the way the story unfolds and how they keep us in the dark about some of the plot points along with some of the characters. The cast was extremely unknown to me and that helped make it all seem even more genuine and realistic. This is a film I need to see again. Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The inspector’s pipe jumps from his mouth to his hand as he departs the doctor’s garage. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy
