“Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Korg. I’m kind of like the leader in here. I’m made of rocks, as you can see, but don’t let that intimidate you. You don’t need to be afraid, unless you’re made of scissors! Just a little Rock, Paper, Scissors joke for you.” – Korg

Brief Synopsis – After being imprisoned on a far away planet, Thor must find a way to escape and return to his home world of Asgard before it is destroyed by a new and vicious ruler.
My Take on it – As you saw from my previous two reviewed of Thor led films, I’m not the biggest fan of his storyline or that of his “friend from work” Hulk, yet, this film easily redeems both of them.
This is an excellent addition to the MCU and adds so much to the scope and breadth of the whole series of films.
This film works on so many levels and the special effects help make it so thrilling the entire time.
They do an amazing job of keeping a proper balance between the action and comedy without overdoing it.
I’ve also never really been the biggest fan of Loki, but once again, he is redeemed here by his charcater’s arc which is so enjoyable to watch in this one.
Jeff Goldblum is an amazing choice as the Grandmaster and is a wonderful addition to the MCU. Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to meet him again in the future.
This film is IMHO, the best superhero film of 2017 and might have just earned itself a place on my top ten list of this year.
I really can’t wait to see this film again!
Bottom Line – Great followup in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that does so much to redeem the character and storylines of both Thor and Hulk after lackluster stories beforehand. The special effects are superb and the story is thrilling the whole way through. The balance between action and comedy works really well and even the character of Loki is more enjoyable to watch in this one than in any of his previous appearances. Goldblum is a nice addition to the MCU and I hope we get more of him in the future. This is the best superhero film of 2017 and might even make my top ten. Cant wait to see it again! Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Thor’s “friend from work” line about the Hulk was suggested to Chris Hemsworth by a Make-A-Wish child who paid a visit to the set on the day the scene was filmed. (From IMDB)
