This is my 3948th Review
Thanks to Movie Man Jackson for this recommendation.
“If you cross this line, you better be ready to kill me. ” – Aaron
Number of Times Seen – 1 (9 Apr 2018)
Brief Synopsis – An army tracking specialist is brought to the scene of a brutal murder in order to try and track the killer.
My Take on it – This is a film that I wanted to watch based solely on the fact that it starred two great actors; Tommy Le Jones and Benicio Del Toro.
The premise itself is an interesting one yet it just doesn’t work well enough for us to believe everything that is happening as being realistic enough.
As great as Jones and Del Toro are as actors, they are clearly wasted here since neither of them manages to do a good job with the respective roles they are given.
This film has both scenes in the wilderness and scenes in the city and obviously with the premise of an expert tracker, the ones in the wilderness work better.
The chase through the streets is fun to watch despite the fact that it seems so unrealistic the entire time that it goes on.
It is also way too long because it keeps going on and on nonstop for too much of the film and eventually becomes laughable due to its excessive length.
This film also fails as a good thriller, because it rarely gives us anything surprising along the way and instead quite quickly things become too predictable as to what will happen.
Bottom Line – Interesting idea that just doesn’t come across as being realistic enough. Jones and Del Toro are both great actors yet are wasted here in such a film because neither of them work well in their respective roles. The scenes in the wilderness are better than the inner city ones although the chase through the streets is fun to watch, despite it going on for too long.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Benicio Del Toro broke his wrist while filming a fight scene with Tommy Lee Jones, halting production for four months and pushing back the release date. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (3/10)
