Thanks to Ellie of Zeng This!  for this recommendation.

She chose that I review a film featuring the actor Chris Pratt.

Brief Synopsis – A man discovers that his anonymous sperm donation deposits from when he was in his twenties has resulted in him having over 500 children, now he must decide whether to reveal himself to his children or not.

My Take on it – I really not sure why I hated this film so much the first time I saw it a few years back.

It’s hilarious and does a great job showing us an emotional side of the idea of what fatherhood can really mean.

As a father, I could empathize with many of the ideas brought up here and am so happy that I actually forgot how much I hated this movie when I decided to rewatch it.

Vince Vaughn is great in the lead and plays the part of a guy who fouls up all the time really well.

He comes across as a playing the character really well and is quite comfortable with both the comedic and dramatic aspects of this film.

Chris Pratt is also great here in an almost unrecognizable supporting role as Vaughn’s best friend and lawyer who tries to help him out as much as possible.

The ideas presented here are great and despite the fact that some people might consider the premise really far-fetched, I actually think that parts of it are actually plausible and that actually helps make the film work from that perspective.

Bottom Line – Hilarious film that also manages to touch a warm spot in the heart due to its messages about what it means to be a father. Vaughn is great in the lead and Pratt is almost unrecognizable as his lawyer and best friend.  Premise is quite plausible depsite the fact that many people won’t think so. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia –693 “donations” by Starbuck over 33 months means that he donated 21 times a month or every day and a half. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10) (Upgrade from previous review)
