Number of Times Seen – 1 (22 Apr 2018)
Brief Synopsis – An ex-skateboard champion gets a job as a chalet girl in the Alps to help pay the bills.
My Take on it – I was hoping that this would be an interesting take on what has become a typical rom-com kind of story.
Unfortunately, I was really really wrong here.
This movie was somewhat agonizing to get through because it was sooo boring.
None of the characters or their situations are interesting to watch and it became really hard to care about anything they say or do.
This film feels like a sorry attempt to imitate these kind of teenage rom-coms from the 80’s and fails miserably.
The cast doesn’t manage to be of any help either and even with a talented actress like Felicity Jones in the lead and supporting roles for Bill Nighy and Brooke Shields, none of them manage to make things even a bit more interesting.
It seem as if all of the characters have been put on autopilot at “mediocre” speed and juts let loose on us without a care as to what will eventually happen with it.
Some of the snow sequences were nice to look at due to some cinematographic shots, but overall, there isn’t much to look at in this film as far as I’m concerned.
Bottom Line – Terrible film because it was so boring to get through. None of the characters are really interesting to watch and it’s hard to care about what will happen to any of them. They seem to try and imitate some of the teen films of the 80’s but fail miserably in that attempt. The cast doesn’t manage to help here and they all seem like they are just going through the story with nothing interesting to say or do. Even Jone,s Nighy and Shields can’t help depsite their usual talent.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The quote attributed to Kim’s mother “You’ve got brains in your head. You’ve got feet in your shoes.” is from Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, the Places You’ll Go”. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (3/10)
