This is the final of three posts for The 4th Annual Sex! (now that I have your attention) Blogathon being hosted by Steve of the Movie Movie Blog Blog.
Tnx for letting me participate!
“Now it isn’t that I don’t like you, Susan, because, after all, in moments of quiet, I’m strangely drawn toward you, but – well, there haven’t been any quiet moments.” – David
Number of Times Seen – 1 (13 Jun 2018)
Brief Synopsis – A Paleontology Professor tries to get a Million Dollar donation for his research from a wealthy estate yet keep getting caught up with a young heiress who causes havoc in his life.
My Take on it – For my final review for Steve’s Blogathon, I chose another film that surprised me that I had never seen even though it’s considered one of the most famous screwball comedies ever made and has such a great repoire between the two main characters.
That largely has to do with the fact that Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn have amazing chemistry together which works so well for this story.
They seem perfect for each other and the story helps keep the sexual tension level quite high the entire time y use of both visual and verbal cues throughout.
Howard Hawks does a wonderful job directing this film and helps keep the suspense quite high since nothing seems to work for these two characters to get together.
Bottom Line – Grant and Hepburn have amazing chemistry in this film which helps keep the sexual tension level quite high the entire time. The antics and situations that they both find themselves in are so much fun to watch because it unfolds so well. Hawks does a wonderful job keeping the suspense between the characters at such a high level the whole time because we want to see them eventually get together but things keep getting in the way the whole time. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The scene in which Susan’s dress is ripped was inspired by something that happened to Cary Grant. He was at the Roxy Theater one night and his pants zipper was down when it caught on the back of a woman’s dress. Grant impulsively followed her. When he told this story to Howard Hawks, Hawks loved it and put it into the film.(From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)

Great summary of one of the ultimate screwball comedies. Thanks for all of your contributions to the blogathon!
Terrifically clever film – inventively “reinvented” as “What’s Up Doc?” by Peter Bogdonavich with Barbra Streisand and Ryan O’Neal. If you’ve never seen that one either – I highly recommend it.
