Number of Times Seen – 1 (5 Nov 2018)
Brief Synopsis – Three brothers trying to get out of the slums hope that their youngest brother’s talent as a wrestler will help them find their way to success.
The story is extremely boring throughout and there really isn’t anything interesting that happens to the characters.
The premise seems like a bad carbon copy version of Rocky (1976) and isn’t nearly as good from so many different aspects.
The characters are all stereotypical caricatures and none of the manage to do anything unique or interesting throughout the film.
The dialogue is poorly written and we are never really given much reason to care or sympathize with the characters because of the way they are all presented.
This was Stallone’s directorial debut and is among the worst of his films eventhough there are a number of films that can try and vie for that title despite the fact that he only has (so far) directed 8 movies in his career.
Bottom Line – Extremely boring film that is too reminiscent of Stallone’s previous film Rocky (1976) and feels in some ways like a bad carbon copy of that story. The characters all seem like stereotypes and don’t manage to do anything unique or interesting here. The dialogue is poorly written and the viewer is given no reason to really care (or even root for) the characters here because they just aren’t sympathetic enough at all. Stallone’s directorial debut is nothing to write home about and should probably be skipped.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Directing was such a new job to Stallone on this project that several times, cast and crew were in position, ready to do their jobs, but they could not, because Stallone would forget to yell, “Action.” (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (1/10)
