The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s Genre has been chosen by Quiggy of The Midnite Drive-In and it is Documentary Films.

Try to think out of the box!
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of Documentary Films.…
Brief Synopsis – Three skateboarding friends deal with the challenges of life as they face the real world along with their turbulent pasts.
My Take on it – This is a documentary that I knew nothing about before watching it and that actually works to its advantage.
Really liked the way that the story started off with a certain premise and then it naturally shifted along the way based on the events in the lives of the characters.
The story flows really well despite the various changes in direction along the way and actually manages to become even more poignant than would be expected.
They do a great job finding a balance between the three storylines and have them constantly traverse one another at different points even when the stories move in different directions since the characters constantly meet up again and again over the course of the film.
Bottom Line – Interesting to see films like this that start with one goal and end up reaching places that were never expected. Liked the way that the story seems to flow despite the various changes in direction of the story. They manage to find a balance between all of the various storylines and ultimately find a way to have the stories traverse one another later on after the main characters part ways along the way. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The Film was shot in Rockford Illinois. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Nope. Not as captivating as I had hoped for eventhough the story goes in some great directions that no one would have expected.
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
