The Last American Virgin (1982)

“This coke’s kinda sweet. It’s really good stuff.” – Brenda

Number of Times Seen – 1 (11 Dec 2018)

Brief Synopsis – Three teenage boys do all they can in order to try and lose their virginity in a small town in California.

My Take on it – This is a really moronic teen sex film that comes across as being completely pointless.

As a comedy it doesn’t work at all and it isn’t funny in the least since all of the jokes fall completely flat.

The various situations that the characters get themselves into constantly gets more and more absurd as things move along.

The overall story is quite silly and it all seems like a ploy to try and see how raunchy a film can actually get even if it doesn’t have a plot that is coherent or interesting in any way possible.

The only good thing about this film is the great soundtrack which is filled with some amazing 80’s rock music by The Cars, Journey, The Police, Reo Speedwagon, Tommy Tutone, KC and the Sunshine Band, The Human League, Blondie, U2 and The Commodores.

These songs are the main reason not to turn the volume done on such a terrible film.

There’s a probably a reason that none of the actors in this film went on to have great Hollywood careers after appearing in a turkey like this one.

Bottom Line – Terrible teen sex film that isn’t funny at all.  The various situations that the characters find themselves in gets more and more absurd as things move along. The story is silly and just seems like a ploy to try and be as raunchy as possible even if the plot is pointless.  The best part of this film is the soundtrack because they use so many classic 80’s rock songs that at least give a reason to not turn the sound off. There’s probably a reason that none of the actors in this film ever had a career boom after appearing in this film.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The movie and its precursor “Lemon Popsicle” [Lemon Popsicle (1978)] were both based on a situation which happened to the film’s director Boaz Davidson during his youth. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (2/10)
