Top Ten Movies of 2018

I realize that most people have already presented their lists of their favorite 2018 released movies, so despite it being the beginning of February, after having seen 95 movies released in 2018, I feel confident enough to present my top 10 movies from last year.

Some of my choices might slightly go against the mainstream choices, but just like everything else on this site, it’s what I personally think, so take that into consideration before screaming at me 🙂

Just click on the movie title to read my review of each of these films.

  1. I saw 115 movies released in 2018. I made a Top 25 (so you could have expanded on your “honorable mentions” – one of which made my Top 25. As to your Top 10 – solid list (and as you said – very subjective as these sort of things should be). We overlap on a few. My list:
    10. Mission Impossible: Fallout
    9. Colette
    8. Wildlife
    7. Private Life
    6. Green Book
    5. Vice
    4. The Favourite
    3.A Quiet Place
    2. Can You Ever Forgive Me?
    1. A Star Is Born

Not sure how many of those you saw. Numbers 11 through 25 available upon request. And for added fireworks – my Worst 10:

    10. Roma
    9. Aquaman
    8. First Reformed
    7. Mid 90s
    6. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdon
    5. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindenwald
    4. Sorry To Bother You
    3. The HappyTime Murders
    2. The Meg
    1/ The Predator

I fully realize that some of my WORST populate many Ten BEST lists this year – to which I would say — tough.

    • Of course Id love to see ur 11-25

of ur faves – I haven’t seen 4 of them – Wildlife, Private Life, Collete and CUEFM and all 4 are now on my list to watch.
Of ur bottom 10 – only 3 that I haven’t yet seen – First Reformed (on my 5k list for 2017), Sorry to Bother You and Happytime (have no desire to see it at all)
I was lukewarm on most of the 7 but each had some merit to them (not that any come even close to my top 10)
I HATED HATED Mid90’s. Also populating my worst list is 211, A Wrinkle in Time, Escape Plan 2, 7 Days in Entebbe, The Spy Who Dumped Me and 2036: Origin Unknown, The First Purge, Burning and Equalizer 2

  2. Funny – I didn’t even see 9 of your 10 Worst. And Equalizer 2 I really liked – better than the original. The thing on bad movies is that when you hear such terrible word of mouth on something – you tend not to go at all. So I would never list a movie I hadn’t seen – on either list.

As to the rest – here are my Best #s 11 through 25.:
    25. Beautiful Boy
    24. Puzzle
    23. He Won’t Get Far On Foot
    22. Eighth Grade
    21. Sicario – Day of the Soldado
    20. Beirut
    19. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
    18. Juliet, Naked
    17. Three Identical Strangers
    16. Isle of Dogs
    15. RBG
    14. American Animals
    13. Hearts Beat Loud
    12. Searching
    and
    11. Blindspotting

  3. Ooh, I’ve been waiting for your top 10+ list for 2018! Great picks, even if I’m woefully behind on watching most of them. (I think I posted my Top Twelve closer to May last year so you’re not that late.) I expect at least five of your picks will be on my list too (definitely your top 3); I’ll have to catch up to see if there are more. 🙂
