Number of Times Seen – 1 (2 Mar 2019)
Brief Synopsis – As the Ghoulies try to find new places to wreck havoc, they find much amusement at a local amusement park.
My Take on it – This is a film that I’ve been avoiding seeing ever since it came out 31 years ago.
The fact that Troy Anderson of Anderson Vision chose it for next month’s Franchise MOTM at the LAMB made me take the plunge especially since this is the 2nd of the 4 films in the series that I have now committed myself to watching within the next week or so.
Another really bad film in this franchise that doesn’t work on so many levels.
The storyline is quite silly and doesn’t make much sense as things move along.
The only real redeeming factor that this film has is the fact that it take place at an amusement park.
This allows the film makers to spotlight so many attractions from these kind of parks which both help and hinder the Ghoulies as they try to wreck havoc on everyone.
There isn’t much of a plot to this film and it really just rambles on from start to finish.
The characters aren’t developed at all which helps make us forget them so easily.
This also helps make the viewer care so little about who will live or who will die through this ordeal.
This is probably the best film of the franchise, but that isn’t saying much at all.
Bottom Line – Extremely silly addition to this franchise. The story is terrible and the only redeeming factor here is that we get to see so many cool amusement park attractions and the ways that they can be used to help and also hinder these creatures. The plot is almost non-existent and none of the characters are memorable because they don’t manage to really do anything interesting that would make us care whether they live or become creature fodder.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This film and its predecessor where caught in a “moral panic” in the 1980’s accusing the popular culture of endorsing and glamorizing witchcraft, the occult, and satanism. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (3/10)
