The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s Genre has been chosen by Christopher Cooper of Angelman’s Place and we will be reviewing our favorite 80’s Teen Sex Comedies
Please get me your submissions by the 25th of March by sending them to teenagechris@movierob.net
Try to think out of the box! Great choice Christopher!
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of 80’s Teen Sex Comedies.…
“Oh, thank you, Baba Rama Nana! ” – Shirley
Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 Mar 2019)
Brief Synopsis – Two teenagers at a Florida resort do all they can to try and find beautiful girls to spend their time with.
My Take on it – This is a film that I heard about when it came out, but never really had much of an interest in seeing what it was all about.
This is truly a horrendous movie and it was extremely torturous to get through because it fails to have any merits at all.
The fact that a very young Johnny Depp and an even younger-looking Rob Morrow starred in this film is quite impressive because one would assume that any actor who would make a movie like this, wouldn’t be allowed to have much of a career in Hollywood and they both beat the odds with this turkey.
The plot is quite silly and feels like a bunch of misunderstandings strung together quite haphazardly in order to try and tell a funny story which missteps every inch of the way.
The way things are presented is just too much because it isn’t very interesting to watch at all.
Bottom Line – Horrendous film that has no merits what-so-ever. Depp and Morrow are completely wasted in this teen comedy and they should be thankful that their future careers weren’t based on their performances here. The plot is extremely silly and is basically just a run of misunderstanding followed by misunderstanding which gets to be too much because they aren’t very interesting to watch.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Johnny Depp and Rob Morrow were so embarrassed by the film, that they swore a pact to track down and destroy every copy. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Not even close. Terrible film that has no real coherent plot.
Rating – Razzie Worthy (1/10)
