Justice League Vs. The Fatal Five (2019)

“He claims he’s from the 31st Century” – Batman

Number of Times Seen – 1 (3 Apr 2019)

Brief Synopsis – Star-Boy travels back in time to present day in order to stop a group of escaped villains from destroying the universe.

My Take on it – As a kid I use to love reading the comic books featuring the Legion of Super Heroes and of the Justice League and I was so happy to see that this film actually teams them up.

This film introduces us to some new superheroes as they work along the old ones that we already know and love.

The story as presented here is quite good and I really liked the way that they allowed things to play out in a realistic fashion instead of rushing things along.

A few of the younger superheroes featured here have powers that are variants on what we might expect and that adds so much to the intrigue and unpredictability of the way that the story unfolds.

Greta voice cast which works quite well in helping anchor us to the fact that this is a world that could exist.

The battle scenes are done quite uniquely which adds so much to the fun of it all while also raising the stakes since anything can happen here and the heroes never have full protection from getting injured or more.

Bottom Line – Great updated story featuring new and old superheroes from both the Justice League and from the Legion of Super Heroes.  Liked the way that they allow events in the story to move along at a realistic pace and don’t rush things the whole time. Some of the powers of the superheroes are slightly different from what is expected from them, but that adds more intrigue to the whole story.  Fun and unique story which gives us some great battle scenes. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Mr. Terrific is heavily featured in this movie. The creative team wanted to give him more action after feeling he was cooped up in the Watchtower running the team in the last season of Justice League Unlimited (2004). He is also voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson in this movie instead of Michael Beach who was busy filming Aquaman (2018). (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
