Wow. Major disagreements on 1958. Vertigo at #8? Some lists I’ve seen have it top 5 on greatest films of all time. Never even heard of “Elevator to the Gallows”. Touch of Evil not even ON the list? Or The Defiant Ones? I’m speechless. Just an FYI (not sure of the availability where you are) – but with Damn Yankees on your list – you should absolutely check out a miniseries on FX Network called Fosse/Verdon with Michelle Williams doing a stunning job as Gwen Verdon and Sam Rockwell as Bob Fosse. A warts and all exploration of their careers and relationship(s). Their daughter Nicole is one of the series Executive Producers. Seen 3 episodes so far – and it is excellent. Already smelling some major Emmys.

Vertigo wouldn’t get anywhere near my Top Ten for 1958. Elevator to the Gallows is awesome! Definitely my favorite of 1958!
