Number of Times Seen – 1 (2 Jul 2019)
Brief Synopsis – Following the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), Peter Parker and his classmates go on a summer trip to Europe where he is confronted with helping SHIELD try and stop Elemental monsters from destroying major cities and sites.
My Take on it – This is a film that I’ve been anticipating for the past 3 months ever since Avengers: Endgame (2019) came out.
This film takes the baton from that film and moves forward while at the same time allowing us to explore what life is like for people who disappeared and also for these that stayed behind thinking they lost all of their friends and family in one snap.
Theydon’t get too philosophical or psychological about it, but they dwell on these issues enough to convey to the audience what it must have been life for both sides.
This film does a superb job showing us the personal and intimate side of Peter Parker as he must not only deal with villains, but also his own raging high school hormones.
At the same time, he does all he can to try and understand the how and why he is there to help protect and safe the world.
The mix of both serious and fun action works really well and allows for the audience to both cheer on our favorite actors and actresses but also feel the rising tension as things begin to change.
The various issues that the characters find themselves dealing with along the way is quite enjoyable to watch since it gives us a great perspective on the development of these characters while trying to discover who they truly are and what kind of potential they have for the future.
Can’t wait to see where this story line is eventually going towards because it seems as if it might go in a competency different direction and then switches things on us over and over.
Bottom Line – Such a great addition to the MCU. This film fits in perfectly with the overall story line and shows us the effects of the past two Avengers movies on the people left behind and those that disappeared. Loved the way that this film shows us a very personal and intimate side of Peter Parker as he tries to come to terms with where his place in the world truly is. The action is kept both serious and fun at the same time which allows us to both cheer and feel the tension of the suspenseful nature of things. The issues that the characters deal with along the way is so enjoyable to watch because it helps us get an even deeper perspective of who these characters really are and what kind of potential they have for the future. Can’t wait to see where this storyline ends up going! Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This is Samuel L. Jackson’s 3rd consecutive MCU appearance as Nick Fury following Captain Marvel (2019) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). This also the first time an MCU character has appeared in 3 films in 1 year. (From IMDB)
