Brief Synopsis – A couple try to find a way to have a child via fertility treatments but never realized how it will affect their marriage.
My Take on it – This is a film that I’ve been interested in seeing for the past few months and finally got an opportunity to see what it was all about.
This is an extremely enjoyable film that does a wonderful job keeping its storyline feeling quite realistic and plausible.
The characters are developed really well and that helps make the viewer feel even closer to them as the story unfolds.
Katherine Hahn and Paul Giamatti are superbly cast in this film and they feel so right together which helps us believe that they are truly in this kind of relationship portrayed.
The dialogue of the film is written superbly an allows us to get a sense of the intellectual nature of this couple along with the ability to take part in some very intense discussions about the situation that they currently find themselves in.
These discussions are quite in depth and also feel very personal and intimate, which also helps us connect with the characters and their story.
This movie does a wonderful job giving the viewer a very close perspective on the idea of fertility treatment yet we also get to see how this kind of event can affect and impact the various levels of family that get involved with such a process when those close to them go through such a process.
Bottom Line – Really enjoyable film that comes across as being quite realistic. Hahn and Giamatti are perfect together here and their characters make us truly believe the kind of relationship that they have. The dialogue is superbly written and allows us to get a clear sense of the intellectual nature of this couple along with the ability to see the various kinds of in depth and personal discussion that they can have regarding their situation. This film is able to give the viewer a great perspective on the idea of fertility treatments along with the kind of impact and ripple effect that it could possibly have on the various levels of family involved with such a process. Recommended!
