“What message? Eat out more often?” – Michael Moore
Number of Times Seen – 1 (7 Oct 2019)
Brief Synopsis – Michael Moore travels America in order to try and understand why corporate America treats it’s employees so poorly.
My Take on it – I may not always agree with Michael Moore’s politics but he is a very talented film maker who knows how to make powerful films about one particular subject – corporate America and it’s connections to politics.
This film works really well largely due to Moore’s winning personality and the way that maneuvers his story into very funny situations by using his wit and knowledge of the events portrayed.
The most glaring one here is when he catches people saying this on tape and mere seconds later they deny saying it which doesn’t leave them in a very good light no matter what your stance is on these issues.
This film is another attempt by Moore to find an answer for the growing unemployment rates in corporate America and even after 3 decades of this quest, there is no proven and satisfying explanation as to why these various companies care so little for the men and women who dedicate their lives towards their work.
This movie is done in a style that is quite different from Moore’s other films and that actually helps this one tell its story in a fun way but as good as this one is, it still doesn’t reach the level of some of his other films that are so much more powerful in their scope and in their message.
Bottom Line – Another fun Moore documentary that is accentuated by his winning personality and humorous situations. The film tries to find a answer for the growing unemployment rates among corporate America and why these companies care very little for their workers. The style of this film is a bit different than his other documentaries and that helps it stand out a bit even if it isn’t his most powerful outing. Recommended!
