The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s genre has been chosen by Amanda of Hollywood Consumer and we will be reviewing our favorite L.A. Films.
Please get me your submissions by the 25th of Oct by sending them to firstname.lastname@example.org
Try to think out of the box! Great choice Amanda!
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of L.A. Films.…
Number of Times Seen – 1 (23 Oct 2019)
Brief Synopsis – A behind the scenes look at what led to the show Full House to be created and why is became popular enough to be a fan favorite for numerous seasons.
My Take on it – Of the four films in this series this is one of the better ones and they are able to do a great job recreating the characters and the atmosphere that they helped achieve with their TV show.
They are also able to show how close these actors all became while filming this show over numerous seasons which helped them form a lifelong bond.
The movie also does a nice job showing the various ups and downs that these cast members faced both on the show and in their personal lives over the course of the series’ run as they each tried to find their own place both in the show, in Hollywood and of course in the world.
The film unfortunately feels as if they rush too much of the story and truncated certain events that could have been expanded on easily.
This is quite a shame because the story that they presnet here could be shown on a much deeper level than they manage to do here.
Bottom Line – This is one of the best films in the series and it manages to do a great job recreating the characters of the story while showing how close they became over the course of the filming of the series. The film shows the various ups and downs of the cast members as they each tried to find their place in the show and in the world. The story is unfortunately a bit truncated and it feels as if parts are too rushed which is a shame because this is a story that can be shown on a much deeper level. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The characters Steve, Nicky and Alexander only appear in the filming of the series finale and their actors weren’t given a proper introduction. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Comes close. This film is quite good and manages to really explain why this show became such a hit but it feels a bit too truncated for its own good.
Rating – Globe Worthy (7/10)
