“Looks like Christmas came a little early this year. Well, I hope it was good for you honey. Oh, I must remember to send flowers.” – Jack Frost
Number of Times Seen – 1 (3 Nov 2019)
Brief Synopsis – A serial killer is killed in an accident where an experimental chemical turns him into the form of a snowman which allows him to continue his killing spree.
My Take on it – This is a film that I heard about years ago yet never had any desire to watch it because it didn’t sound interesting enough.
After watching the family friendly Jack Frost (1998), I decided to finally see what this one is all about too.
This is a terrible film that fails to make sense at all.
I can completely understand how this movie turned into a cult classic because instead of being scary, everything that happens comes across in a more humorous manner than it probably should.
The story takes everything to the far extreme and that makes this film no longer feel thrilling or suspenseful as one might expect.
The special effects are horrendous and laughable and fail to make things feel more realistic.
The cast is completely unrecognizable which also says so much about what kind of actors they could get to take part in this turkey of a movie.
The plot remains erratic throughout the film and never lets up which actually hurts things even more because it makes it so much harder to try and get through this movie because it’s comes across as being so silly.
Bottom Line – Terrible film that makes no sense what so ever. The plot is taken to an extreme and comes across as being funny instead of scary. I can completely understand how this film has become a cult hit over the years, but it really has noting going for it besides the fact that it comes across as funny instead of suspenseful. The special effects are terrible and don’t work at all. The plot is quite erratic the whole way through and doesn’t let up at all which also doesn’t help make this film any more watchable.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – One actor who read for the role of Jack Frost pulled a knife at his audition. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (3/10)
