Number of Times Seen – 1 (4 Nov 2019)
Brief Synopsis – Documentary about the country wide tour that Michael Moore started in order to get university students to ledge that they will vote in the 2004 Presidential election.
My Take on it – I’m not always in agreement with Michael Moore political views, yet I have always enjoyed his movies despite them usually being quite one sided.
I was curious to see what he would do with this film since all of his movies are generally about the same thing and hoped that this one would be a bit different.
Unfortunately, this is actually his worst film that he has directed because it feels much too repetitious and rehashes the same singular idea over and over.
Thats fine as a slogan or message on a 30 second commercial, but to have a 90 minutes film that keeps trying to hammer in the same idea yet from different venues around the country, is just a waste of time.
This feels like a propaganda film by Moore once again against the Bush Presidency yet it was released 3 years too late since Moore waited until Bush was about to leave office.
One of the things that usually makes Moore’s film’s entertaining are his antics and this film fails to have any of them which is quite a shame because they would have helped break the monotony of things as presented.
Bottom Line – Moore’s worst film since it is much too repetitious and fails to try and say anything new. The movie is just a propaganda film about the Bush Presidency yet was released only as he was about the leave office. The film lacks a lot of Moore’s usual antics which help make his films so enjoyable to watch and this one was extremely difficult to get through since it feels as if it is missing his usually personality onscreen that would help break up the monotonous nature of this movie.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Moore decided to make the film available for free download to North America’s residents for 3 weeks, starting on September 23, 2008. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (2/10)
