Brief Synopsis – Documentary about the suspicion that an Egyptian spy for Israel might have been a double agent.
My Take on it – This is a film that I came across by accident and knew absolutely nothing about before sitting down to watch it.
As a fan of conspiracy theories and espionage stories, this film creates its own reality by combining the two in a way that makes things even more intriguing.
This film tries to uncover the truth about the rumors of a top spy possibly being a double agent since no one is sure to this day where his true loyalties stand.
The story is shown from so many various perspectives in order to give us an even more comprehensive look at this unanswered puzzle.
The way that the film shows interviews with top intelligence officers and journalists involved in the story are so gripping to watch.
The tension and suspense is built up even more whenever the film makers pass on new information to the interviewees from other sources that can be both shocking and intriguing when looking at all that has transpired over the past 5 decades.
Director Tom Meadmore does a wonderful job taking the various threads of this film and tying them together so that they reach a point where the various possibilities of this story are nearly endless.
This is done by the way that they give us so many great and plausible options as to what happened in order to try and find a way to decipher the truth about it all.
Bottom Line – Fascinating film that really gets into the heart of this story and tries to find the key to this unanswered question as to which side this spy was loyal to. The film presents things in a great way because it allows us to try and see all sides of this very complex puzzle. The interviews with top intelligence officers and journalists who were very involved in this story are gripping to watch especially when they are given new information from other sources that can be both shocking and intriguing. Meadmore does a great job weaving the threads of this story to a point where the possibilities become somewhat endless because we get to view so many different scenarios while trying to decipher which is the real truth. Highly Recommended!
