Brief Synopsis – As Thanos tries to gather the 6 Infinity Stones, the various heroes of the MCU do all they can on various fronts to try and stop him.
My Take on it – This is the film that people (myself included) have been waiting to see for more than a decade.
They finally found a way to take all of the various characters and story lines of the previous 18 films and meld them together in a way that we can get a clear idea as to where the story is going.
They manage to find a way to keep things very poignant and powerful throughout and it works on so many levels.
The film succeeds largely due to the ensemble nature of things and the idea that none of the characters can be sene as the central figure works so well throughout.
This movie is able to take fragments of ideas and themes from the various films in the series and pout them together like pieces of a puzzle to show the true nature of it all and it is down in a spectacular way.
The film splits up various characters into diverse groups who each have their own missions in different loctaions in order to try and stop Thanos from achieving his goal of acquiring all 6 Infinity Stones.
This helps prove that they manage to succeed over the past decade in establishing these characters and their personalities and how much thought went into creating and nurturing this series along the way.
Thanos is a very formidable adversary for these characters and he helps make things so interesting and enjoyable to watch (even numerous times).
The film does a wonderful job of leaving the viewer with so much to ponder after the credits have rolled and it doesn’t matter iof you already know where the story goes from there since it is extremely powerful and poignant no matter what.
This is among the very best films of the MCU and it will be quite hard to top it!
Bottom Line – Such an amazing film that is able to take the various characters and story lines from the previous 18 films and meld them together into such an amazing and poignant story that works on so many levels. The fact that none of the characters are the central piece of things works so well in establishing the ensemble nature of things. The film is able to piece together various elements from previous films in order to show how they all are mere puzzle pieces in the grand scheme of things. The way that they split up characters to various missions and locations works so well in helping prove the nature of how much work and thought went in to making this series work so well over more than a decade. Thanos is truly a formidable adversary and helps make the story even more interesting to watch unfold (even numerous times). The movie leaves the viewer with so much to ponder after the credits roll and even after knowing what happens down the line, the story is still extremely powerful and poignant to watch again and again. One of the best films in the entire MCU! Highly Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Doctor Strange has been studying for a few years since his solo movie, and is now considered one of the more powerful characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The writers also wanted to have him come off as sort of “the adult in the room” throughout the movie. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy (10/10) (slight upgrade from original review)
