“I’m pretty smart. I’m sure y’all figured that out by now. I’ve heard from many a folk, kin to me, and close to me, and the ones that know me. They tell me that I have the best business mind that they’ve ever seen. ” – Shannon Whisnant
Number of Times Seen – 1 (19 Dec 2019)
Brief Synopsis – Documentary about the way that two people claimed ownership to a real life human leg and the how the battle raged between them as they both sought justice.
My Take on it – This is a documentary that I came across by accident and was actually amazed by the story that it tells.
The subject matter is quite strange and despite this, they find a way to keep things interesting and captivating throughout.
This film has a very quirky aura to it throughout and yet it is quite difficult to turn away from such a unique and somewhat silly story.
The story itself seems extremely unbelievable yet once we meet and get to know the characters, it makes clear sense as to how stupid and petty they are and that makes it more intriguing to watch in order to actually find out the outcome of this tale.
This film is a perfect example of why the world is fascinated with Reality TV because this simple true story features strange and unique people that one wouldn’t find elsewhere yet still want to see how things unfold.
This film won an award By The Film Club’s Lost Weekend (see Trivia section below) and the award they got is quite fitting.
This is definitely not a film that I will forget that quickly despite the fact that the story is completely insane and absurd throughout.
Bottom Line – Really strange subject for a film yet it still manages to stay interesting and captivating throughout despite the obvious quirkiness of it all. The film tells a story that seems quite unbelievable and manages to find a way to explain how things came about yet at the same time shows how stupid and silly all of these people are. The film shows helps emphasize the way that the world as became fascinated with reality shows and the back stories of the strange and unique people featured on these kind of shows. When I saw what award this film won (see Trivia Section below), I was amazed at how accurate that prize truly was. Not a film I’ll forget very quickly due to its subject matter even if the story itself is completely insane and absurd. Recommended!
