The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s genre has been chosen by Bubbawheat of Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights and we will be reviewing our favorite Animated Comic Book/Strip Movies.
Please get me your submissions by the 25th of Feb by sending them to email@example.com
Try to think out of the box! Great choice Bubbawheat!
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of Animated Comic Book/Strip Movies..…
Number of Times Seen – 1 (24 Feb 2020)
Brief Synopsis – The Hulk is pitted against both Wolverine and Thor by powers that wish to destroy them all.
My Take on it – This is a film that I came across while I was scouring movies to watch for this series.
As a fan of the characters portrayed here, it was lots of fun watching what can happen when evil forces try to pit heroes against one another.
The film has two separate stories that are somewhat connected and I think that the one involving Wolverine was the better of the two.
They are able to bring into the story various aspects of Weapon X along with the choice to feature both Sabretooth and Deadpool who both add so much to this story.
The Tho story tho is able to bring some very interesting aspects of Asgard and the realm into the story and we get to learn more about the mythos of that place.
Thor and his compatriots are great together and we get to see how they deal with Loki and Hela who are both never as they seem to be.
The battles between these characters are so enjoyable to watch because it gives us the opportunity to see how powerful these characters all can be in their own right and at the same time experience how they would need to fight one another in real situations as everything going on around them keeps unraveling.
Bottom Line – Such a fun anthology because it is able to showcase what can happen when evil forces try to pit heroes against each other. The Wolverine story is a bit better because it fits in really well wit the whole Weapon X project and features some great scenes with Deadpool and Sabretooth. The Thor story brings to the table more information about the mythos of Asgard while also bringing together THor and his compatriots as they fight evil including Hela. The battles between both Wolverine and Thor against Hulk are also great to watch as we get to see how powerful these heroes truly are as they battle through everything going on around them. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Fred Tatasciore (Hulk) and Steven Blum (Wolverine) recorded their lines together. They got into their roles so much the staff were worried they’d brawl in the recording studio and pulled them apart. (From IMDB)
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Comes quite close. Both o these stories are action packed and pack a whallop but something is missing that would make them even better.
Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
