Number of Times Seen – 1 (31 Mar 2020)
Brief Synopsis – Once again Buddy Love interferes with the life of Sherman Klump.
My Take on it – This is a horrendous sequel because it doesn’t manage to really add anything to the premise of the first one.
Once again, Eddie Murphy is able to show off his acting and comedic talents by playing multiple characters.
This movie tho has an almost non-existent plot that makes so little sense.
It is fun seeing some of these characters return for the sequel, but as with the original film, they take things too far here while trying to show the diversity of these characters even if they are all much too similar for their own good.
The jokes and level of humor is extremely juvenile throughout and that actually takes away from some of the fun of things because they go too far with things here.
Of the characters in the film, Sherman is the best and the film would probably be much better if they just focused on him here instead of trying to be funnier with the other characters who are just too much.
I’m actually quite glad that they stopped making these films after this one because this one already was quite unnecessary in the scheme of things.
Bottom Line – Terrible sequel that once again features multiple characters portrayed by Murphy but the film lacks any kind of real story. Fun seeing some of these characters again yet the film once again takes this much too far when trying to show some kind of diversity between the characters. The jokes get much too juvenile and that really takes away from the fun of watching the way that these characters act towards one another. The best character is once again Sherman who would make this film so much better if the story stayed more focused just on him instead of trying too hard to be comedic with the other characters. Glad they chose not to make any more films in this series after this one.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The fourth of 5 movies with Earl Boen as a psychologist, the others were the first three Terminator movies and Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994). (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (4/10)
