Number of Times Seen – 1 (6 Apr 2020)
Brief Synopsis – A corrupt police officer is injured during a and when he wakes up from a coma, he wants to make things right.
My Take on it – IN the late 80’s and 90’s Jean Clade Van Damme was a very in-demand action star.
Once his star declined, he still made more films, but most of them weren’t good at all.
This is a movie that I came across and was curious to see if he still was able to make something worthwhile following the turn of the Century.
The answer is quite simply… NO!
This is a terrible film that fails to work on any level.
The film shows that even once he was past is prime, he wasn’t necessarily making the best choices of films to star in.
The plot and story of this film isn’t thrilling at all and there are far too many holes in the way that things are presented which hurts tings even more because it makes the story even less interesting to watch unfold.
Stephen Rea is fine as the bad guy even if he doesn’t come across as being menacing or threatening enough in the role.
There are certain aspects of the story that take things far too much to the extreme and that hurts things even more here.
Bottom Line – Really bad Van Damme film that doesn’t work at all. Even when this came out in ’07, he was well past his prime and based on this film, he apparently wasn’t making the best choices. The story isn’t thrilling and all and there are far too many holes in the plot that just make things even less interesting to watch unfold. Rea is ok as the antagonist in the story but even he doesn’t seem menacing enough for this kind of role. The story takes certain aspects of things to the extreme and that hurts things even more.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – A lot of the scenes were shot in Bulgaria. In particular, the school in the movie is the American College of Sofia. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (2/10)
