This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!
In these uncertain times, obviously all of our lives and schedules have been interrupted in ways we never could have imagined. In order to take advantage of the precious time that this world wide crisis has given me with my 4 kids, I decided to choose some movies to watch with them in order to help expand their movie knowledge while also generating quality time with them which will hopefully give them some great memories during this very challenging time… Thus I decided to create a CoronaCamp featuring some fun films to watch with them.
Number of Times Seen – 1 (18 May 2020)
Brief Synopsis – An adventurer seeks out her father has been missing since he went on a quest himself years earlier.
Bottom Line – Ineffective remake that doesn’t add enough energy into the series of Lara Croft. Vikander isn’t the best choice to take over this role and something seems missing throughout. The story tries too hard to add in twists and turns along the way, but instead of making things more thrilling, it bogs things down due to the way that it all plays out. The way that they mix fantasy and reality into the story is fun to watch even if it doesn’t end up making things more effective overall.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – For this movie, Alicia Vikander wanted to play a strong and physically fit Lara Croft, so her goal was to gain enough muscle and strength. Walton Goggins stated that: “She is just a real powerhouse. She made me embarrassed to take my shirt off, and I go to the gym five days a week!” (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy (6/10)
