This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!

“Everybody makes their own fun. If you don’t make it yourself, it isn’t fun. It’s entertainment.” – Ann Black

Number of Times Seen – Between 3-5 times (17 Oct 2001, DVD and 24 May 2020)

Brief Synopsis – As a movie crew moves into a small town, the behind the scenes antics of the cast and crew wreck havoc in the town.

Bottom Line – Really fun film that works so well.  David Mamet is able to write and direct such an enjoyable look at the behind the scenes going-ons of a movie set. The cast is amazing and William H. Macy stands out among the rest as the director of the movie.  The dialogue is crisp and witty and gives us so much insight into everything transpiring behind the scenes.  Te film successfully juggles so many mini-plots which allows the viewer to truly see how chaotic things can be because of the vast number of diverse personalities involved in creating a film that need to be kept in check.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – In the movie, the fictional internet company that wants to advertise in the movie-within-a-movie is To this day, if you go to, you will see a white page with the phrase “Go You Huskies”. This is a reference to a line said by several townspeople throughout the movie. There is also a link you can click on to find out why the 1975 Waterford Huskies didn’t win the state championship. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
