“Mel is not afraid to go up to the line… and occasionally, he’ll cross it.” – Rob Reiner

Number of Times Seen – 1 (24 May 2020)

Brief Synopsis – Documentary about the life and career of Mel Brooks, one of the funniest comedians in America who was able to bring us so many hilarious movies and plays.

Bottom Line – Hilarious film that is able to show us why Brooks is such an endearing and lovable comedian. The interviews are forthright and lets us get to know his personality while letting us understand the how and why he became so successful over his career. The film also gives us the opportunity to hear thoughts from many of his contemporaries along with the younger generation of comedians who have always emulated him over their careers. Such and inspiring documentary because it’s so powerful in its message about Brooks which we can all learn so much from. Highly Recommended!

Rating – Oscar Worthy (9/10)
