The Good Liar (2019)

This a Covid-19 2020 minireview!

“It seems like you’ve had quite a past.” – Stephen

Number of Times Seen – 1 (8 Jun 2020)

Brief Synopsis – An elderly con man targets a wealthy widow, but things are never as simple as they may seem.

Bottom Line – Really fun thriller that makes the viewer constantly question what they think they know as the story unfolds in directions that one might not expect Helen Mirren and Ian MacKellen are both amazing in these roles and allow us to find reason to root for both of them as the story moves along. The cat and mouse game played by these characters is so much fun to watch unravel. The story is filled with some great twists that help keep it so thrilling to follow. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Though Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen star together for the first time in a movie, they had previously done a play together called Dance of Death. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy (8/10)
